Artist Statement

My artistic journey began with a profound personal tragedy. While working as a nurse, I witnessed the death of my mother during my shift—an event that plunged me into deep depression. Art became my means of healing, offering a way to channel my grief and emotions into creation. This pivotal experience continues to shape my work today.

Inspired by Abstract Expressionists, I take a conceptual approach to creating abstract art, transforming my personal experiences, emotions, and perceptions into expressions of abstraction, collage, and assemblage by creating what I call my “Dialogue” pieces—two interconnected works that mirror and converse with each other—both visually and conceptually—becoming one piece and telling a unified story. These pieces often evolve, sparking new ideas for bodies of work.

My practice is also driven by an enduring fascination with colors, found objects, shapes, everyday items, thrifted finds, and elements of nature—each offering its own unique discovery.

At its core, my art is a journalistic expression of beauty. With a focus on color and form, my goal is to captivate viewers while unfolding deeper, layered narratives.
